Wow. "Constant flux of various personas" That's an interesting phrase. Funny that everyone here wants to psychoanalyze me and assume I'm sad or lonely or possibly psychotic. I have to tell you it's none of the above. It's an extreme neurosis thank you very much. BTW Jackmeoff, how can anyone not understand why some perceive this little group as homogenous when people like you stereotype entire swaths of the country ala the midwest and south?? And others have did the same sort of thing. You profess to be all open minded and inviting here while at the same time you shun and degrade people regularly who don't tow the PA idelogical line and/or live in a PA sanctioned area of the world. If that isn't hypocricy, I don't know what is.

You speak as though this is my life, that this is my world. Well it isn't pal. It is merely an electronic forum, an escape from the everday grind. It gives some people the chance to drain their mind, whether it be stories about sex, drugs, or wallpapering. Most of us have been posting here for years, and you just so recently join us. However, I guess I'm just puzzled as to why you put up a vindictive front?

I have to say that I never considered Simon to be a girl. Actually that is not entirely true, I thought it might be my wife having a bit of fun at first. She would have just used her own name though.

Regardless, I think Simon should continue to post. Block him and you block free speech. A non starter regardless of how much it gets up your nose. If Simon sticks around, then this board can avoid accusations that it is merely a support group or mutual appreciation society.

I hope the debate about relative merits of midwesterners continues. I have a lot to say about this but would love to hear what others are thinking first.

On the home front, my wife has just come down with the same strain of violent flu I have just recoverd from, and which my baby daughter has had long enough to have developed an ear infection. So the holiday will be spent on 24 nursing duty. Big fun all round. Hope everybody else has a bettter time than me.

Sorry to hear you've all had the flu, Tommy. I'm hoping to have a get-together sometime soon for all those PA'ers in Seattle...I'll let you know when and where, and hopefully you'll be recovered and free to hang out.

My sympathies, Tommy, flu is not fun. Nor are ear infections, jeez. Reminds me of my own childhood. I had
so many ear infections in childhood that when I had my tonsils out around age 10, they put tubes in my ears at the same time. I think it's weird they don't even routinely take tonsils out now, say it's better to keep them. In some ways, the pace of medical science is so slow...

Rex, just one request, can you please stop using the phrase "have did"? As in "others have did the same sort of thing." This will be your second time using the phrase and I just don't think it's grammatically correct. Try "have done." Thanks.
