If it were possible for me to ignore my intense attraction to British music, if I had to live only with the U.S. stuff, and if we were to forget Blondie, who were so popular over there, I'd take Sonic Youth's "Goo" and "Dirty" albums to a desert island with me. It gives me goose pimples to hear them, now. The hairs on my arms stand on end. Kim Gordon's tribute to Karen Carpenter for one...Thurston Moore's tribute to Marilyn Monroe...
I never even appreciated Sonic Youth until I saw them live.
Okay, that's all I'm going to say for now. Jesus, they featured on a Can tribute album, God bless them. When Sonic Youth were good they were REALLY good. Just my opinion.
