Only one thing more about Jeff Buckley

I wish to say this, and this only about Jeff Buckley and then I will drop it. Here is another thing I feel was lost in my conflict with Tommy.

I was a belated fan of Jeff's. When Grace came out, I played a few tracks on the air as a DJ at a college radio station, but I played them only because I knew Liz from Cocteau Twins had raved about him. Even as I played them, I did not really appreciate what was going on. I didn't really get into him until I heard his cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" after many months or even a year had passed since the release of Grace.

What I'm trying to get at is, even as someone who owned Grace when he died, as someone who could have been called a "fan" when he died, I still didn't have the faintest clue of what he was really capable of UNTIL the posthumous releases started coming. Due to the awesome tireless efforts of his mother, these releases have kept coming. And every single time I have thought "oh okay, they've released the best of it now" yet another release has come to prove me wrong.

My main point is this: it was not Jeff Buckley DYING that glorified him in my eyes, it was the POSTHUMOUS RELEASES that did that. It's a completely different thing.

And that's all I have to say on him.
