Not sure what this has got to do with the Liverpool scene but I know I speak for myself and three other scousers when I say I am jolly interested in the stunt with four cocks. Shit, I don't care if the two of the others belong to brian Dennehy(sp) and Robert Redford.

Please don't bother to explain what it is all about.

I bought a DVD player last weekend and now have rented the brand new Can DVD (concert & documentary) and I'm enthralled!!! It's got Damo Suzuki, but I don't recognize the songs so far. Also have rented VH1's Behind The Music for you guessed it...Blondie...

Drinking a Raspberry flavored beer from Seattle that yet says it was made in the "German tradition". It's called Thomas Kemper's Weizen Berry. Excellent stuff, not too sweet. I often wonder about that Belgian Raspberry beer...framboise or whatever...but I think I tried it once and it was too sweet. Expensive, too!

This has nothing to do with Liverpool, but then neither does Paris Hilton, Rosie, and several cocks in one mouth.
McC, when I was at work last oh...Monday night or so I inadvertently caught the Outkast video of "Hey Ya" the song you asked me to play at your house. They sure had a lot of green in that video. I liked the video more than the song, but it's okay.

GREAT! I'll check it out, thanks man!

Allow me my peace about Can...I didn't enjoy the DVD as much as I'd hoped but their 2nd, 3rd, and 4th albums make up for it. Here's what I need to say.

Can make up the bottom part of a triangle, the other two points at the top being The Fall and early PiL. Public Image Ltd. you know who I mean. PiL. So you have those two bands, and yet the band that birthed them both was CAN.

I am a Fall/PiL fanatic of course, so of course, Can would suffice, but if you want to trace the exact origins of Wire, for example...Brian Eno made a short film as a tribute to them. CAN, that's all I have to say. CAN.

Onward paxacidans...

Mark, not to break your heart, but back when I was 13 and she was still hot I fucked Debbie Harry in the 'can'. Now you are shaking your head and thinking can has two meanings, and yes to both. Yes CAN.

You're funny, McC. I recall us reading an Updike story in my class, where he used the word can to refer to a woman's butt and my teacher had commented how no one uses that word to mean butt anymore. It is kindof strange.

Checked out the La's article on the Guardian site. That guy is completely mad. Why anyone would think he would ever release another record is beyond me. I'd bet on Kate Bush releasing another record before I'd bet on him. But you must wonder, what might happen when he dies? Will stuff get released then? These overly perfectionist geniuses think they can outsmart everyone, but not forever.

Well, I could say it was by accident, but then, considering I spend my free time in front of the computer tirelessly feeding my brain with as many facts about UK music as possible, nothing like this is really "by accident"...Tommy I just wanted to mention two more bands that I realized in the haziness of my memory were from the 'pool. Half Man Half Biscuit (charming, hilarious band, but I'd forgotten they were from there, even had to check the record sleeve to be sure!) and Dr. Phibes and The House of Wax Equations, from the early 90's. I had their cassette in '91 because I heard them on Peel in Manchester but alas it was one of the many cassettes that were stolen from me, and I never bothered to get it again, even totally forgot about it until now when I came across their name in a list of records. I hope to have that first LP of theirs in the mail soon. It's totally out of print on CD, they were apparently a pretty special band, even if the press and no one else seemed to talk about them much. Supposed to be a cross between shoegazing, psychedelia and funk. It will be interesting to see if I remember any of it when I play it again.
