RIP Layne, you grungy fucker.

Anyways, why don't we get a thread going that describes to each and everyone their top Five favorite albums? Sounds like a good idea, right?
Ok then:

#1- "On the Beach" by Neil Young:
This album is not available on CD for reasons only Neil knows. However, some of his darkest (cept for "Time Fades Away") music is represented on this album. Recorded in 1973, this vinyl album was introduced to rave reviews. Why is it not on CD then?? Who knows, ask Neil, that old hippy mother fucker.
"Well I hear that Laurel Canyon is full of famous stars, well I hate them worse than lepors, and I kill them in their cars!!" -Revolution Blues

#2- "Excuses For Travelers" by Mojave 3
This fucking album will make you cry and smile. Since I have only the CD withouth the case, I don't know what any of the songs titles are. Unfortunately for me, a big Neil Young fan, I like this album better than everyone of his albums cept for "on the beach" (and perhaps Harvest and After the Goldrush, but it depends on the moods).
"I love the sun, and the highlights in your hair, they turn me on!" -song number 6 I believe

#3- Well, I think Bob Dylan was a prophet of some sort. Even if him and Neil Young are too "cliche" for you, they both epitomize true singer/songwriter music. With a tie of "Nashville Skyline" and "The Freewheelin Bob Dylan," these two albums define the lunger prophet. YEEEHAAAAAA.....Burn out country to acid face folk. Propeht of some sort, yes.
"Well they ask me why, I'm so drunk all the time, it levels my head and eases my mind!" - "Freewheelin" 1966
"Well its strange and it's sad, I lost the only pal I had, I just could not be what she wanted me to be!" -"Nashville Skyline" 1974

#4- Wow, favorite albums are harder to figure out than favorite songs. I like Becks "O'delay", but will not include it in my top 5. My 4th favorite album probably is the Easy Rider Soundtrack. If you haven't seen this movie or heard the soundtrack, then wake the fuck up.
"Don't Bogart that joint, my friend, pass it over to me! Don't bogart that joint, my friend, pass it over to me. Why don't you roll another one, just like the other one! -Fraternity of Man 1968(?)
#5- Going to have to be Tom Waits "Closing Time", Mickey Hart's "Superlingua" Nick Drakes "Pink Moon" hell I love the boss "Ghost of Tom Joad" "Nebraska" but I also love "Rust Never Sleeps" "Donovan Live" Nivrvana's "In Utero" and even Pearl Jams "No Code."

OK, so I havent been paying much attention to music for the last couple of years. I'm recently into bluegrass music. I love Yonder Mountain String Band, they are unreal. Since my own musical capabilities rely on "D, C, G, A, and sometimes Em" I need some recommendations on good music out there. No RadioHead, heard em, No Grateful Dead, I have about 40 bootlegs, but perhaps a real singer songwriter like Drake or Mcquinn or Young.

Sergeant Peppers, Queen Live at Wimbley 86, The Velvet Underground and Nico are some of my favorites. I also like Lou Reed's Ecstasy. Find I frequently want to hear Talking Heads Fear of Music. Erasure’s I Say I Say I Say makes me happy.
