(i know, i kinda disqualified myself by complaining to ooh that there is no proper venue for music reviews).

but listen to me: "run come save me" by roots manuva is a phantastic cd. roots is basically a black uk-based rapper but the music goes beyond categorization. he is in a bad state -- borderline nutcase, frying his brain with the wrong drugs -- but the music is formidable.

if you don't believe me (and why should you?), perhaps you might want to know that this is not only damon albarn's current favorite, but also named as a major influence by radiohead. (you can't hear the influence, though).

so go out and check it out, right now.

I think sex drugs and rock n roll is good enough for all music from rock to techno to B&S to Shaun Ryder. we got an email yesterday that said "What the fuck you like Belle and sebastian and techno?" Have you heard The Chemical brothers? The new Luke Slater. Fuck yeah i like B&S and will say that with the word 'fuck' not fucking twee at all, but Stuart plays footie with his shirt off in the sunshine. he is nopt always stuck in a church making tea and biscuits. Plus I am Mccutcheon and that is the way it is going to stay. We just need to add an art section.

Martino I'd buy the rounds to get pissed with you. Politics go so good with beer. So does good cheer. and music and and and.......
