Oh the gigs have arrived and I have spent all my money buying my supplies and now I am skint but my ears and head will be full. Friday was Beta Band. Tonight is Stereo Total, the Greatest Pop Group going in the world at the moment. Then it's back to back action with Spiritualized Tue. and Sonic Boom on Wed. Sonic is touring with the Spaceman 3 bassman and the drone will be in our bones. Do I think Jason and Sonic will get together for something super special, probably not, but if they do I'll be there.
On a side note, Tommy James and the Shondells are the best group in the world!!!!! To me they are the American Kinks. I love them, they sooth the come down. Tommy formed the band when he was 12!!!How in the fuckin' hell did they get that sound on Crimson and Clover????? It's the 2nd best song ever written. Primal Scream's Higher than the Sun is #1 (of course) But Crimson and Clover, it's pop, it's out there, it's magical!!! How did they get that sound???? The other night after five pints of Guinness down my local pub I played Joan Jett's version ten times in a row on the Juke Box and was rockin' the house (until they kicked me out.)
And no, I don't know what a Shondell is either.
I'll see you out, unless you see me first.

Tommy James on 'Crimson and Clover'- "Back then I tended to express my feelings as colors, and those were just two of my favorite colors. It was kind of a poetic passion, trying to express passion poetically. Because it was simple, we didn't get so far away from our pop roots. We just slowed it down and made it wiggle. I ran the vocal mike through a guitar amp and turned on the tremelo to get that rippling effect, and then put it back through the board. A lot of people thought their radios were broken." So there you go then.

The 3rd best song ever is Love Will Tear Us Apart- Joy Division. (it's also my favorite song to play on the bass guitar, and I like that bass solo slide in the song Melt With You)

Well I'm glad you clarified that because when
you said you were going to see Spiritualized
I thought you must be joking because I knew
they'd been here already some months back...
guess they came back after all.

Piano Man is being spun this sat. nite!
Just so ya' all know, Mark is another DJ around town whose musical insight is wild. We used to DJ together at the Baltic Room, the stage for the short story A Girl Named Jolie. Mark and Maclean, yet another DJ this one from Brighton England, are going to both be playing with me this sat.

this week has been scandulous for me.
starting out with the opening of a new club on sat. i christened it with pot tokes and tons of pabst, followed by a oxycodone . got my picture taken like mad. met some hotties.
monday i was watching fierce break dancing that looked like brazillian capoirea and saw a band laketrout, very good.
wed. i walked in on a girlfriend giving a guy a blow job. i watched . they liked it. i felt like a character in a pinter play.
tons of fun here in seattle , martino.
