They are showing REAL anger, yes! They are fighting against ideas that they do not share.

presidential election in France

Ooh, I do NOT agreee at all with what has been said here. First, the 17% of the population who voted for Le Pen is NOT representative of France, or French people. What it says is that there is 17% of racists in France that believe that non-white people should be expelled from France because they thi...

presidential election in France

It's a shame... I'm so mad. Yes Jospin is a good guy, and yes I agree he did good things for France, the 35 hours was a really good step. And I do wish he would have passed the first vote. I'm under shock about what happened in France yesterday. It's a tragedy for me to think that such things can ha...

presidential election in France

The situation is fucked up in France!! Yesterday, the first tour of the presidential election took place. Lionel Jospin (left wing) was ejected right away. But this is not the worse. Le Pen arrived secon, with 17% of the vote (after Chirac, 19/20 % of the vote). This is a scandal and a chock for me....

Well, the show in itself was very strange. Very profound and challenging. So provocative that most po=eople were leaving during the show because they could not go through it. The translation afterwords was alright. I did it twice in a row. First night: awful, painful for me... second night: a lot be...

Rosie, Yeah, we say 'merde', meaning sheet, to say 'break a leg'. I don't know what I'm going to do there on stage, really... what have you convinced me to do??? I talked to the dancers today, they're really cool, but well, I don't think I can technically do the job, and there'll be 1200 people... f...

I've heard about this dance compagny today (they're looking for a translator for the after questions, Idon't know if I really want to get on stage... they'll find someone else I guess). Their work is called 'points de fuite'. I might go, don't know yet.

In defense of the 1st person

Truffaut? He was a French filmaker during the 60's, 70's aound that time. Made 'Les 400 coups' (the 400 Blows) or 'Baisee Volee' (Stolen Kisses), made movies with the same character, 'Antoine Doinel' coming back, different episodes of his life. Truffaut is really one of the best, in terms of techniq...

In defense of the 1st person

I think writing in the first person is more intense and real. I agree with Francois Truffaut, he's my buddy by the way. Great man, great work.

I don't have a bike here, but I do in France, it's not a motorbike. Though I used to ride a scooter when I was younger. Rosie I'd like to ride with you sometimes, I just don't have a bike. Un vélo, ou une bicyclette, both are correct. My friend from Quebec prefers the bicyclette, I don't. Question o...

To me, a bike is definitly masculine in my mind... to ride a bike.. I might be infuenced by the fact that in my mind, a bike is first of all 'un vélo'. I've always rejected the feminine couterpart, 'une bicyclette'. It sound old, ugly and old-fashioned to me, but again, I know people still use it. I...

It may matter that he's from America, but personnaly it doest not matter to me. I'm for whoever wins, or for whoever lost (people never supported those. I've never really been patriotic; or maybe with the exceptions of a few things such as our wine and cheese, which I can't compare with anything I'v...

well I'm not really into 'Le Tour de France'. Sorry, knowing that a guy from Texas has dominated French is like knowing that a guy from Alabama has just brushed his teeth. Although I love to ride bikes for my own pleasure.
